Job Summary 

Job Summary Concord University is the proud home to a 48 bell carillon cast in the Paccard Foundry of Annecy, France. It is the only true carillon in West Virginia. It was installed and dedicated in October of 1997. Concord seeks an assistant professor to teach and perform carillon and organ, as well as provide collaborative duties and responsibilities within the Division of Fine Arts. This is an endowed non-tenure track position.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Duty/Responsibility Teach Carillon, Organ, and possibly pianoPerform recitals and concerts

Perform at public events at the university including, but not limited to: Convocation, Founder’s Day, and Commencement Exercises

Work collaboratively with music department faculty, music department ensembles, and the president’s office preparing musical offerings for key university events.

Carrillon tours

Procure bids for organ updates

Oversee ongoing upkeep and maintenance of instruments

Teach music department courses in music history or theory, assist with piano accompaniment duties

Minimum Education Master’s
Required Licenses/Certification Ph.D. or ABD preferred. Active membership in AGL & GCNA
Required Skills Proficiency in organ and carillon. Excellent communication and teaching skills.
